  • About Joe Lyddon...

Well, this is what he looks like!

    He's really a nice guy...

At the age of about 2 or 3, he got his first taste of working with wood, playing with 2x4 blocks, hammer, nails, and handsaw...   as his Dad was building their new home...   he found it very fascinating and watched his Dad quite a bit as he worked.

In Jr. High, he took mechanical drawing and really liked it...

Later, in the 9th grade, he had to design, draw, and build a wood project.   Not knowing anything about Joinery techniques, he just designed and worked just from his head.   He made a small bedside table out of Mahogany...   it had a drawer, tapered legs, and a beveled top.   He doesn't remember how he Finished it but it looked pretty good and got a good grade on it!   When he was in a Senior in high school, someone saw the table and wanted to BUY it!   He sold it for $20 (this was back in 1954), a lot of money for him!   Anyway, guess that made him a professional at the age of 18! (grin)

He also glued a bunch of Mahogany together and turned a large lamp which he still has.

He never did much over the years with wood except just a few things nailed together for shelves, etc.

There will be more information about him when he has the chance to get something together.

Thank you for visiting the site... He wants you to enjoy yourself.
